Best Practices and Recommendations for Cybersecurity Service Providers

This chapter outlines some concrete best practices and recommendations for cybersecurity service providers, with a focus on data sharing, data protection and penetration testing. Based on a brief outline of dilemmas that cybersecurity service providers may experience in their daily operations, it discusses data handling policies and practices of cybersecurity vendors along the following five topics: customer data handling; information about breaches; threat intelligence; vulnerability-related information; and data involved when collaborating with peers, CERTs, cybersecurity research groups, etc. There is, furthermore, a discussion of specific issues of penetration testing such as customer recruitment and execution as well as the supervision and governance of penetration testing. The chapter closes with some general recommendations regarding improving the ethical decision-making procedures of private cybersecurity service providers

Tagebuch versus Zeitschätzung: ein Vergleich zweier unterschiedlicher Methoden zur Messung der Zeitverwendung für Hausarbeit

'Ein Vergleich der Ergebnisse von Zeitverwendungstagebüchern und Zeitschätzungen lässt Zweifel an der bislang aufrecht erhaltenen Annahme aufkommen, beide Methoden wären lediglich zwei verschiedene Wege zur validen Messung individueller Zeitbudgets. Auf der Basis eines eigens für diesen Methodenvergleich erhobenen Datensatzes wird gezeigt, dass die auf Grundlage beider Erhebungstechniken gewonnenen Daten signifikant unterschiedliche Ergebnisse hervorbringen und folglich zu unterschiedlichen theoretischen Schlussfolgerungen in Bezug auf die Determinanten geschlechtsspezifischer Zeitverwendungsmuster für Hausarbeit führen würden.' Automating Enterprise Architecture Documentation using an Enterprise Service Bus

Currently the documentation of Enterprise Architectures (EA) requires manual collection of data resulting in an error prone, expensive, and time consuming process. Recent approaches seek to automate and improve EA documentation by employing the productive system environment of organizations. In this paper, we investigate a specific Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) considered as the nervous system of an enterprise interconnecting business applications and processes as an information source. We evaluate the degree of coverage to which data of a productive system can be used for EA documentation. A vendor-specific ESB data model is reverse-engineered and transformation rules for three representative EA information models are derived. These transformation rules are employed to perform automated model transformations making the first step towards an automated EA documentation. We evaluate our approach using a productive ESB system from a leading enterprise of the fashion industry

Die vorliegenden Instrumente zur Messung der Zeitverwendung im Alltag wurden im Rahmen des DFG geförderten Projekts "Innerfamiliale Arbeitsteilung als Prozess" entwickelt und als Kontrollinstrument und potenzielle methodologische Alternative zum ifb-Zeitverwendungstagebuch im Frühjahr 2005 erstmalig im Rahmen von Paarbefragungen (n = 98 Personen) getestet. Die Zielsetzung dieses Vorhabens war es, ein innovatives Erhebungsinstrument zur Messung der Arbeitsteilung von Paaren im Beziehungsverlauf zu entwickeln. What Determines Change in the Division of Housework Over the Course of Marriage?

First published on February 9, 2012This article analyses the changing division of housework between husbands and wives in western Germany. Using representative longitudinal data from the Bamberg Panel Study of Married Couples, the authors analyse how the division of household labour changes over the first 14 years of marriage. In particular, they assess when and under what conditions the husband’s share of traditionally ‘female’ housework increases or decreases. They consider shifts in spouses’ employment hours, relative earnings and family transitions as time-varying predictor variables in event-history models. It is found that almost half of all newlyweds begin by sharing household tasks equally. But over the course of marriage, the husband’s contribution to housework declines significantly, mostly independent of spouses’ income or working hours. The husband increasing his share of housework is uncommon, even when the wife works longer hours or realizes higher earnings. Traditional gender norms seem to trump earnings.
